Mental Health First Aid is designed to extend the concept of first aid training to mental health and substance use challenges.  This training is for adults who interact with youth.  A separate training focused on adult mental health is scheduled for June 28, 2023.

Youth Mental Health First Aid – Shiner- June 21, 2023

Participants in this course will be able to:

• Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
• Recognize common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges
• Understand how to interact with a young person in crisis.
• Know how to connect a young person with help.
• Better understand trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullying.
